How Fidel handles account, progress, billing, feedback, waitlist, and pronunciation data.

Guest Learning And Account Sync

You can use Fidel's complete course without an account. Guest progress and settings stay on your device by default. Fidel does not silently create a Firebase account when you open the app or begin a free lesson.

If you choose Save your progress or sign in, Fidel uses Firebase Authentication for your identity and Firestore for account-bound progress, learning-event, and billing-entitlement records. That intentional account action begins cross-device sync.

If you continue with Google or Apple, that provider supplies the identity credential needed to sign you in. Fidel exchanges it into the same Firebase account used by email sign-in; it does not create a separate native account or progress store.

Optional Product Analytics

Product analytics is off by default. If you enable it in Profile settings, Fidel sends a limited set of interaction and learning-outcome events to its own analytics endpoint to help improve the course. These events exclude recordings, raw answers, email addresses, authentication tokens, and payment details.

You can turn optional analytics off from the same setting at any time. Turning it off stops future optional analytics from that device and does not disable learning, account sync, support, billing, or Pro access.

Audio And Recordings

Pronunciation Studio is guided self-comparison. Browser recordings stay on your device and are not uploaded by Fidel. The learner hot path does not require AI in production, and production AI is disabled by default.

Billing

Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Purchases made inside the iPhone app are processed by Apple through the App Store. Those providers receive the information needed to complete and manage the purchase. Fidel receives verified purchase and subscription status so Pro access can follow the Firebase account used for the purchase.

Fidel does not receive full payment-card details from Stripe or Apple. Firebase UID is Fidel's account binding for server-managed entitlements.

Account Deletion And Retention

If you created a Fidel account, you can delete it from Profile inside the app. Deletion removes your account-bound lessons, progress, profile, referrals, feedback, social records, and private billing links. The request continues securely if you close the app while it is finishing.

Fidel may keep one de-identified billing summary for up to three years and one pseudonymous security and deletion record for up to 90 days. These retained records do not include your Firebase UID, email, provider token, payment details, or learning data.

Web subscriptions are cancelled when deletion begins. An Apple subscription remains managed by Apple and is not cancelled by deleting Fidel. An App Store purchase linked to a deleted Fidel account cannot be moved or restored to a new Fidel account.

Waitlist And Product Updates

If you join a Fidel waitlist, we store your email address, optional name, source, and selected interests so we can send relevant launch, iPhone, or Pro updates. Announcement emails include an unsubscribe option when sent through an email service provider.

Support And Feedback

In-app feedback is stored server-side in Firestore with category, message, optional email, app context, and a privacy-preserving browser hash. Support email for fidelamharic.com is routed through Cloudflare Email Routing when configured.
